The Medicine Buddha is a supreme healer who helps alleviates one's suffering with his power to purify bad karma, not only to cure physical sickness, but to overcome mental ills of attachment, hatred and ignorance as well. He holds a jar of medicine nectar in his left hand, and the stem of the Aruna fruit in his right.
