Shakyamuni Buddha, born 2,500 years ago as Prince Siddharta Gautama, is the Buddha of our age. Shakyamuni displays the Bhumisparsha, or "touching the earth" mudra, with which the Buddha summoned the Earth as witness to his realization of Buddhahood.
